Learn Real English ｜ Four Continents Figure Skating Championships
The 2024 Four Continents Figure Skating Championships in Shanghai saw the welcomed return of Japanese favorites Riku Miura and Ryuichi Kihara, who took home the silver metal at the event. The pair went on to skate in the 2024 World Figure Skating Championships in Montreal.
In this lesson, we’re going to take a look at their performances in both event and then we’ll dig out the hidden message their coach, Bruno Marcotte, told them afterwards. Let’s study what was said and how to effectively use English.

Good afternoon, everyone.
I greatly appreciate all of your concern and support regarding my health emergency on the evening of the free program.
I’m feeling better now and I am grateful for the swift response of the organizing commit, the medical team, and the volunteers.
I would also like to thank the ISU president Mr. Jae Youl Kim for this special opportunity to receive our silver medal today.
Riku and I were very sad that we could not attend the medal ceremony to congratulate Deanna and Max on their victory, as well as Minerva and Nikita on their bronze medal.
So we hope to see you all again next season. Thank you so much.
