I actually do. I think Spain and Japan are going to get out of this group. Um, Japan is so disciplined. I think they have a really defined style of play that is so hard for other teams to compete against and to break down. Unless it’s on set pieces. The weaknesses of each team are so interesting and Japan…

Every time that you think that they’re going to win they’re susceptible to set pieces. And I think it’s a physicality factor that they just cannot match.

Forgive me if I’m not sitting here and lying to the people about a potential run at the Olympics.

Anything beyond a quarterfinal is a massive, overwhelming success. You’ve done great. A quarterfinal is your station in life. A group phase or out, to me, that would be a big failure.

I’m willing to at least set that bar. To say, “Hey you got to get out of the group here.” I… I really think so. I think…

Like, it’s getting to a quarterfinal, but I don’t see’em competing with the likes of a France, of a… of a Spain, of… of an Argentina. Even Japan.

I know there were some other teams ahead of Japan. Like, I think Japan’s one of those teams that always does well and can continue to do well at the Youth Level. So forgive me if I’m not sitting here and lying to the people about a potential run at the Olympics with the U.S.

Oh my goodness. Silent assassins? Possibly.

This Japanese team; obviously massive disappointment going out in the quarterfinals of the last Olympics to Sweden. What have we learned about this team since then and what have you learned about this team in the course of this tournament?

Oh my goodness. Silent assassins? Possibly. I mean, just absolutely clinical when they need to be. I think that has… has been kind of maybe a pleasant surprise for… for some people.

I… I think they’re still a very technical team with really good ability on and off the ball. But, I think there’s a level of physicality that this current era of Japanese football has brought to the pitch.

They know they got to be tough and they can’t be pushed around. And I love it. I love that they’re bringing it… um, that… that bit of energy into games, as well.

So I’m… I’m gonna be keeping an eye on the middle third and see how things go between these two sides there.

There’s a scandal overshadowing the Paris Olympics. And no, it’s not this.

It has everything to do with China!

There’s a massive doping scandal casting doubt at the Paris Olympics.

Back in April, the World Anti-Doping Agency, or WADA, confirmed that 23 Chinese swimmers tested positive before the 2021 Tokyo Olympics.

These swimmers were allowed to compete and win at 2021 Tokyo Olympics.

And to make matters worse, China named 11 out of the 23 swimmers that tested positive for doping back in 2021 on the roster for its Paris Olympics team.

Athletes, like Olympian champion Michael Phelps, say athletes have lost faith in WADA since the scandal.

As athletes, our faith can no longer be blindly placed in the World Anti-Doping Agency, an organization that continues to prove that it is either incapable or unwilling to enforce its policies consistently around the world.

US Anti-Doping Agency CEO, Travis Tygart, also criticized WADA, arguing that it and CHINADA have “secretly, until now, swept these positives under the carpet.”
