John Lennon in Japan ｜ His Japanese Experience
Former Beatle John Lennon spent a lot of time in Japan, visiting and staying in Tokyo and Karuizawa. In 1971, John Lennon and Yoko Ono found themselves in Japan promoting world piece when they gave an interview at the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo.
In this lesson, we will take a look at the interview, learn some of the key phrases and how to use them.

Hello, this is John and Yoko, and we’d just like to thank all the Japanese people for allowing us to have a quiet time here and enjoy the beautiful country. And eat their beautiful food.
And we’d also like to thank them because they’re going to buy our new album; John & Yoko.
Kabu… kabushi, what’s that?
Kabuki?
No, no. That… Um…
Shibui.
Shibui! This album is shibui!
I think, um, haiku is the most beautiful poetry I’ve ever read.
And, um, I’d like to simplify my lyrics as beautiful as hai… haiku.
