What is HelloTalk?
HelloTalk is a language learning & language exchange app from China.
The main focus of the app is posting sentences and/or audio and other users will correct any mistakes. You can also find language exchange partners. The app feels like a social media platform, like Facebook. For this reason, some users are posting more casually and don’t care about language exchange.
Like any platform that has achieved a certain level of popularity, HelloTalk has a fair number of scams and people who are trying to use the app as a pick-up place, like Tinder. It’s important for all users to be aware of these issues.
In this lesson, we’ll look at some common scams on HelloTalk and how some users are trying to ‘romance’ unsuspecting female users.

HelloTalk（ハロートーク）とは？
中国発のグローバルな言語学習・言語交換アプリです。
文章や音声データを投稿するとネイティブの方がボランティアで添削してくださったり、またランゲージエクスチェンジパートナーをみつけたりすることができる神アプリです。このアプリはFacebookのようなソーシャルメディアのような側面もあります。そのため、言語学習についてそこまで重きをおかず、カジュアルに使っている方もいます。
人気のあるプラットフォームではおこりうることではあるのですが、残念ながら一定数、Tinderのような詐欺師や出会い目的の方もいて、注意しながら使うことをおすすめします。
